<g:title>1923 Lloyd Loar K5 Mandocello</g:title>
      <g:description>
Well here’s something you don’t see every day. This Loar (one of roughly 10 known K-5 mandocellos) spent about 90 years as a guitar conversion, but has since been meticulously restored back to its former glory. It’s an incredible thing to hold in your hands.

Here are the details on the originality:

Tuners - Original silver plated pearl button (Loar Style) A style mandolin tuners

Bridge - Original 1920s adjustable mandocello bridge base with stamped patent date. Brother’s Music made a newer ebony bridge top for it, as the original had cracked/failed

Tailpiece - Original and unique to this model silver plated K-5 tailpiece, with a reproduction Loar cover piece made by Stephen Gilchrist

Pickguard - Replaced slightly later 1930 vintage L-5 patent stamped long guard

Back - The original (likely birch) back was replaced with a 30s maple back. The back binding was also replaced at this time. The original interior label is gone.

Finish - The finish appears to be all original

Case - Period correct green lined case

</g:description>

      <g:description>
A very cool, largely original pre banner era J-35! Lightweight, lively, and totally mojo-d out, this thing has the magic and the mystique. Spruce top, mahogany back and sides, two tone bars, and era appropriate everything! The sound is strong and deep, and the playability is impeccable. As you can see in the pictures it has several dings and scratches throughout, and a handful of small, cleanly repaired cracks here and there. <g:description>
A spectacular sounding D-18 with rare provenance! We can usually only speculate where an old guitar has been based on past repairs and dings and scratches, but this one is a different story. It spent the majority of its life in the hands of its original owner, and comes with photos of him, the strap he used, and his original Martin registration card. Wild! The guitar is all original, save for the replacement bridge that was installed at the Martin factory in the 90s. The guitar’s sound is dry and airy, with strong fundamental tones and incredible headroom. It even comes with the original case!
</g:description>

      <g:description>
Somebody loved this D-28. There is a patch and four cleanly repaired cracks on the top, as well as a few cracks on the sides (see photos) - but beyond that it’s all honest playwear and mojo. As with most Brazilian rosewood-equipped Martins, this guitar can scream or sing depending on your attack and intention. The tone is complex, with a focused fundamental and deep resonance. It’s set up perfectly and ready for another 60+ years of music.
</g:description>

      <g:description>
Wow! When it comes to mojo you can’t really beat an opaque + extensive checking. <g:description>
The vines, the flowers, the mustache - you already know what it is. Predictably, the huge guitar sounds huge. But that’s not all! This thing is largely original, mojo-d out, and set up perfectly with a lot of saddle yet available for adjustment. Just holding one of these in your hands is surreal. If it’s good enough for Emmylou and Townes, it’s good enough for just about anyone. Repairs include a recent neck reset, a tight center seam split, and a nicely repaired 4” crack on the top. Original case included!
</g:description>

      <g:title>2003 The Heritage Golden Eagle </g:title>
      <g:description>
The Heritage guitar company was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan when a handful of Gibson’s luthiers decided they didn’t want to move with the company to Tennessee. Instead they bought space and equipment at the iconic former Gibson facility at 225 Parsons Street, and the rest is history. When it comes to US made electric guitars, you can’t do much better than a Heritage. This Golden Eagle is in incredible condition for its age, and features a Heritage-made floating pickup w/ volume knob mounted on the pickguard, gold hardware, cloud fretboard inlay, eagle and tree headstock inlay, and bound F holes. Besides a small imperfection near the pickguard, this thing is mint! Plays and sounds great plugged in or acoustic.
</g:description>

      <g:description>
The iconic Gallagher dreadnought is most often associated with Doc Watson, but they’ve also been played all over the world by the likes of Dan Tyminski, Ronnie Bowman, Hank Williams Jr., and many more. For good reason! Every Gallagher is handmade with incredible attention to detail in Wartrace, TN, and their exacting standards play a huge part in the love these guitars get. They don’t make a lot of them, so get it while it’s here! This G-65 has a sitka spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, ebony fretboard and bridge, and an inlaid abalone headstock logo. The back of the neck is very worn in and comfortable, there is some light checking on the top and sides, there are a few cleanly repaired cracks in the top and side.
</g:description>

      <g:title>1920s Vincenzo Spadea </g:title>
      <g:description>
Lightweight, huge sound, old as heck - all features we love around here! Vincenzo Spadea owned a music store in New York in the early 1900s where he sold sheet music, woodwind/brass instruments, and, of course, guitars. It’s hard to know exactly who made this, but whoever they were they had a good eye for materials and construction: spruce top, Brazilian rosewood back and sides, abalone inlay on the ebony fingerboard/bridge, and wonderfully intricate purfling and rosette work throughout. The guitar has a few repaired cracks here and there, but the setup is perfect. Low action with tons of saddle to work with! As far as we can tell the text on the label translates to:

“Italian band and orchestral instruments – repair workshop General agent for the U.S. for the Maino & Orsi factory of Milan. Specializing in violins, mandolins, guitars, and accordions. Music for everyone”
</g:description>

This M-4 is high end from top to bottom: solid spruce top, curly maple back and sides, fan inlay, ornate headstock design, original bound firestripe pickguard, and the unmistakable Gibson sunburst. Sounds great playing everything from swing to country, with the distinctive thump and note separation that makes these so desirable. It’s all original, crack free, and plays like a dream!
</g:description>

      <g:description>
Built by the Regal company in Chicago, this X braced, spruce-topped B&D delivers vintage tone and looks in spades. It sports an original finish, bridge plate, pickguard, and tuners, and it plays like butter thanks to a neck reset and a great setup. These are fairly rare, since Bacon & Day mostly focused on archtop guitars, and it’s made even rarer having been owned by Walter Becker! <g:description>
The big boy! Gibson Supers were built to cut through the orchestra in the big band days, and they still deliver more volume and projection than basically any other acoustic archtop on the market today. Super 400s were given all the highest end appointments Gibson offered at the time, meaning this thing is high class from top to bottom. The finish is original, as are the beautifully patina’d tuners and tailpiece. There are a few cleanly repaired cracks on the side, and the heel cap has been replaced. Comes with tons of mojo and a custom Calton case!
</g:description>

      <g:description>
A taper braced bone! 1945 was a great year for the Martin D-28, and if you’ve ever played one you know why. The complex, powerful midrange cuts through a bluegrass jam like a knife, and the shimmering highs and woody lows make the perfect accompaniment to the voice. Everything you play on this thing comes out sounding like music, you know? Repair wise: it’s had a neck reset at some point, a few cracks repaired on the top behind the bridge, and there’s a plugged pickup hole on the lower bout side. The bridge plate, pickguard, and tuners are original, as is the finish - save for the area around the bridge (see photos). What a screamer!
</g:description>

      <g:title>1996 Martin D-40MS </g:title>
      <g:description>
Martin only produced 250 of these Marty Stuart D-40s, making this a pretty rare bird on the market these days. This example plays and sounds wonderful thanks to the light bracing, lively sitka top, and the comfortable neck - which is modeled after Marty’s Hank Williams’-owned 1939 D-45. Those distinctive horseshoes/steer skull/hearts/dice/flower inlays and the pearl herringbone soundhole rosette were conceptualized by Marty himself, and the label bears both his signature and that of C.F. Martin IV. The guitar is all original, and besides a center seam finish crack (doesn’t go through to the wood) and a few shallow dings here and there it’s very clean. Giddyup!
</g:description>

      <g:description>
Mojoville, USA. The sound of this perfectly worn in D-18 matches its look and feel exactly. The tone is woody and even across the strings, with all the midrange bark that’s typical of the era. Lots of headroom! The setup is great, with plenty of saddle to work with. Previous repairs include: replaced bridge, replaced maple bridge plate, and a few small repaired cracks throughout.
</g:description>

It’s all here - Adirondack top, dark red figured Brazilian back and sides, ebony fretboard with snowflake inlay, and herringbone rosette trim - wow! Incredibly, this guitar is free of cracks on the top and back, with just a few cleanly repaired cracks on one side. Repair wise, the top has been oversprayed and the neck has been reset, and the pickguard/bridge/tuners have been replaced. <g:description>
Here’s a Gretsch-built archtop based on the famous Synchromatic 100 - right down to the script inlay on the headstock. These were offered through Sears in the 1940s, and they’re surprisingly ornamented and high quality for the price. Featuring an interesting asymmetrical neck carve with a thick profile, MOT inlay on the fingerboard, original finish, bridge, pickguard, and tuners, this thing looks the part. It’s had a few cracks repaired here and there, some cracks in the binding on the neck, but the setup is great and it sounds like a million bucks.
</g:description>

      <g:description>
Spectacular sounding, playing, and looking D-18 from the golden age. What more can be said about the guitar that inspired so many imitations and tributes? Original pickguard, period tuners, two repaired cracks on the top, replaced bridge and bridge plate, back refinished by TJ Thompson. Great setup with a tall saddle!
</g:description>

      <g:description>
Wow! This is a truly breathtaking example of the early 30s Brazilian 00. Pure beauty pours out of the soundhole with every strum. We don’t usually get poetic about this kind of stuff, but this is a rare example of the ideal sound and feel. Can’t say enough good things about it! Original finish, bridge plate, tuners, nut, and bar frets. Two cleanly repaired top cracks.
</g:description>

      <g:title>1933 Gibson L-1</g:title>
      <g:description>
Well you don’t see these too often. During the early 30s Gibson decided to switch over from 12 to 14 frets to the body on their L-1s using their existing 14 fret archtop necks. What resulted was a small run of L-1s with elevated fretboards, like this one! It’s not necessarily something you necessarily see right away, but after a few strums it becomes evident to the ear that the elevated fretboard L-1s are different. This guitar is very lightly built, X braced, and retains most of the important original touches (most of the finish, bridge plate, pickguard, etc.)

The neck has been reset, the back of the neck has been refinished, there are three repaired stable cracks on the top and two on the back, the binding has been repaired here and there, and the bridge has been reglued. The neck angle and setup is spot on!
</g:description>

It’s just a great guitar all around, and would make the perfect addition to any collection. Spruce top, bookmatched Brazilian back and sides, very lightweight and loud. <g:description>
Incredible find! The Euphonon was Larson’s answer to players’ need for more volume during the pre war era, and it still delivers today. It has a 16” lower bout, Cuban mahogany back and sides, original tuners, original case, laminated x brace, two repaired back cracks, and a great looking replacement bridge. No top cracks!
</g:description>

      <g:description>
AS GOOD AS IT GETS! FULLY ORIGINAL DOWN TO THE HARPTONE CASE! Beautiful original finish, original bridge and plate - the works! This is as nice as they come for a true collectors D-28. It shows minor bumps and bruises and has definitely been played, but this guitar is right where it needs to be. Call for an in hand description but there really isn't much to report. Fresh neck reset and set up.
</g:description>

      <g:description>
An excellent sounding player grade 000-18 from the golden era. Original finish, original bridge plate, original tuners, and a new bridge and set up by master luthier TJ Thompson. Its tone is dry and woody with a bit of sparkle in the high end. It’s also very responsive, which is typical for guitars from this era. Repairs include: some localized touch-up near the previous bridge footprint, a very old 1” by 3.5” patch on the bass side, and four repaired cracks on the back.

It takes but a strum to fall in love with this one.
</g:description>
